انخفض عدد الأميركيين الذين تقدموا بطلبات جديدة للحصول على إعانات البطالة الأسبوع الماضي، بما يشير إلى استمرار شح العمالة.

وقالت وزارة العمل، إن الطلبات المقدمة للمرة الأولى للحصول على إعانات البطالة الحكومية انخفضت 11 ألفا إلى 239 ألف طلب بعد التعديل في ضوء العوامل الموسمية في الأسبوع المنتهي في 12 أغسطس، مقارنة مع 250 ألف في الأسبوع السابق.

وكان اقتصاديون استطلعت رويترز آراءهم قد توقعوا أن يبلغ عدد الطلبات 240 ألفا في أحدث أسبوع.
